I think I really got aware of AIDS many years ago because of how Keith Haring died. I read everything on him I could get my hands on at the time and therefore was very devastated when I found out. Yes, he was already dead then, but I was young and I worked myself from the books with just pictures to the biographies where things like this were written down in detail. The things I read made me decide to collect all the information I could on the topic, to become more active and to help when possible (and I did/still do).

Today, there are still people getting infected with the HI virus. True, they live longer than years ago, but there is no cure. So try to be safe. Get informed (at the homepage of your local help organisation for example, for Germany this could be www.aidshilfe.de).
Ignorance should not be the way to go.

So yesterday I took some family photos just before the newest addition (the cuddly little thing in the middle) said his goodbyes. I have to admit I was a little sad to let him go, but I hope he gets a nice new home.

This one deserves a post all by itself, because seeing the aged Kenny Scharf after years and years out of the blue on Wooster Collective made me incredibly happy! (Okay...might not be breaking news and he for sure wasn't somewhere underground, but I just know him from Keith Haring roommate days and somehow lost track of him, so those were joy-inducing pictures to me :).

Growing up with fairy tales á la Grimm, you get ideas like that (inspired by Cinderella - eventhough her stepsisters surely weren't owners of such stylish socks - and a week of pain):

Meanwhile in the real world: One version of a CDcover I did for a present some friends made (again a rather quick solution, in the final version the ends of the wings weren't cut). While doing the sketch I got the feeling, that I should become a tattooist ;)

Refreshing my basic sewing skills by trying to recreate the typewriter from "The Science of sleep" to give away (it made someone very happy :). The writing is a tribute to Mr. Allen in case you wondered.
